This is the privacy policy (the “Privacy Policy”) of this website (the “Website”) made available by Interfaith CarePartners, a Texas nonprofit company (“CarePartners”), as well as for the access to and use of any services supplied by CarePartners’ members (collectively, the “Services”). This Privacy Policy describes the information that CarePartners collects from you as part of the normal operation of the Website and Services, as well as how CarePartners uses and discloses this information.

IMPORTANT NOTE: By accessing or using the Website or Services, you expressly consent to CarePartners’ collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information in accordance with the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and subject to CarePartners’ Website Terms of Use (“Terms”), available at www.CarePartnersTexas.org. People who visit the Website or use the Services shall be referred to as “Users.”

In this Privacy Policy, reference is made CarePartners’ “affiliates,” which shall include companies that are affiliated with CarePartners by reason that these companies are in the same common ownership as CarePartners. Affiliates shall also include the parent company of the group of which CarePartners is a member.

When reading through this Privacy Policy please read the entire contents and do not rely on headings, which are illustrative only.

Collection and Use of Information

This Privacy Policy relates to CarePartners’ collection and use of any personal information through your use of CarePartners’ Website and Services, and any personal information that you provide to CarePartners, including through email. CarePartners shall explain in this policy what information CarePartners collects about you through your use of the Website and Services, and how CarePartners uses that information.

Even if you only browse through the Website and read the information contained on the Website, CarePartners will gather certain information about your visit automatically. This information does not identify you personally, but may, for example, reflect how you found or were directed to or used the Website. Each Website automatically gathers your IP address when you use any portion of the Website. It also may collect the name and URL of the Website that you visited immediately before your visit to the Website. CarePartners may also collect other basic information such as a User’s IP address, web browser information, pages or areas visited within the Website or Services, and what time said pages and areas are visited. CarePartners may use this type of non-personal information on a cumulative basis to better understand what pages Users access or visit, and CarePartners may disclose this information to business and trade partners as well as companies affiliated with CarePartners.

CarePartners may collect basic identifying information from Users, including but not limited to name, email address, and telephone number. For CarePartners that access or use the Services, CarePartners may collect other identifying information, including ID and postal address. CarePartners may collect the above information, for example, during a registration process or through forms you voluntarily submit to us.

When you participate in, access or sign up to the Service, or any activities or online content, such as class or program information, email publications, blogs, e-newsletters, competitions, event invitations, calls-to-action for donations or Volunteers, or message boards, CarePartners may receive personal information about you. This may consist of contact information (e.g., name, email address, physical address, and telephone number) but may also include other personally identifiable information. CarePartners will use your personal information for a number of purposes which include, responding to your requests for information or e-newsletters, adding your details to CarePartners’ list of persons who receive e-newsletters and providing these to you on a regular basis. CarePartners will also compile data based on responses received from Users in order to allow CarePartners to analyze the experience of Users so that CarePartners can improve the Services and predict future services that CarePartners may consider offering.

From Users who send e-mail inquiries to CarePartners or request information from CarePartners, certain personal information you provide will be used only for the purpose of responding to your inquiry.

CarePartners may collect information that Users submit to the Website or Services, such as comments, uploaded media or User Content, contributions to discussions, or messages to other Users.

In addition, CarePartners may collect information such as name, phone number, email address and desired position from Users applying for a job via the Website (e.g., via the “Employment” page). CarePartners also collects information contained on resumes voluntarily uploaded or sent by job applicants, as well as any information or documentation sent to CarePartners via email.

From time to time, CarePartners may host or sponsor certain events, or may provide information regarding information of events or programs of CarePartners’ members, some of which may be listed on our Website (“Programs”). In connection with Programs, CarePartners may collect information such as name, email address, age, and phone number from Users seeking to attend such Programs or from Users who request information from CarePartners regarding Programs.

CarePartners may use certain third party payment processors (“Payment Processors”) to process personal financial information such as name, phone number, address, postal code, and credit card or bank account information for the purposes of allowing Users or Volunteers (as defined in the Terms) to make a donation to our organization’s fundraising efforts (collectively, the “Payment Transactions”). This information is provided directly to such Payment Processors by Users and Volunteers, and CarePartners does not store this information on its servers or computer systems (with the exception of individual Users and Volunteers who consent to disclosure of the amount of a donation and/or the name(s) of the donor party). Such information is used solely for the purpose of allowing Users and Volunteers to make Payment Transactions.

CarePartners may collect information such as name and email address from Users who sign up for any publications, blogs, or newsletters provided to you directly by CarePartners or indirectly through individuals providing Services. CarePartners also collects other information voluntarily provided by such subscribers to CarePartners via email or via any sign-up or opt-in pages of the Website.

We may collect certain personal information from Users who are interested in registering for any of the Programs listed on CarePartners’ “Locate a Program” page (the “Registrants”). CarePartners may share such information with the third party organizations managing or providing such Programs (the “Class Providers”) for the purpose of registering or providing information to Registrants for the Programs and services they have requested.

Children’s Information Policy

CarePartners does not knowingly solicit any personal information from children under the age of 13. If CarePartners is made aware that CarePartners has collected personal information from a child under 13 years old in a manner that is inconsistent with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of the United States, then CarePartners will delete this information as soon as practicable.

Cookies Policy

CarePartners uses cookies, web beacons, log file information and similar mechanisms for all or any of the following purposes:

  • To store information so that you will not have to re-enter it during your visit or the next time you visit the Website.
  • To deliver custom, personalized content and information.
  • Identify you when you access, visit, or log-in to the Website or Services.
  • To note the different areas of the Website which have recently been accessed through your computer. Information collected in this way may be used to develop and manage the online services of CarePartners by, for example, storing information about your preferences so as to enable CarePartners to customize the Website according to your individual interests.
  • Monitoring the effectiveness of any promotions or marketing or fundraising campaigns by CarePartners or its affiliates.
  • Tracking your entries, submissions, and status in promotions, sweepstakes, and contests.
  • Improving the content of the Website and conducting various other diagnostics to improve the Services. CarePartners may, for example, use cookies to monitor aggregate metrics such as total number of User and pages viewed.
  • Analyzing and improving Website security.

The Website does not respond to “do not track” signals from browsers. Thus, your selection of the “do not track” option provided by your browser may not have any effect on CarePartners’ collection of cookie information for analytic and internal purposes. To effectively manage CarePartners’ collection of cookie information, you may set most browsers to notify you if you receive a cookie, or you may choose to block cookies through the settings associated with your browser. But, please note that if you choose to erase or block cookies, you will need to re-enter your information to gain access to certain parts of the Website and may not be able to access other parts of the Website.

CarePartners may also use Google Analytics to analyze your use of the Website and Services. Google Analytics generates statistical and other information about website use by means of cookies. The information generated relating to CarePartners’ Website is used to create reports about the use of the Website. Google will store and use this information. Disclosure, Sharing and Use of Information

The information CarePartners collects is used to respond to inquiries, improve the content of the Website, the quality of the Services, fill open positions within CarePartners’ organization, and facilitate fundraising efforts, promotions, sweepstakes and contests, and to provide information to CarePartners and its affiliates for their respective business purposes.

The personal information CarePartners collects is not sold to or shared with third parties, save and except: (1) as necessary to provide the Services, or any products or services you request in relation to the Services; (2) when CarePartners has your permission to share your information; (3) to register a Registrant for a Program; (4) when it is necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, or as otherwise required by law; (5) such information is seen by third parties who provide web services or professional services to CarePartners (including Payment Processors); (6) such information is shared with affiliates of CarePartners; (7) it is necessary to protect the rights and property of CarePartners; (8) in the event of a Transfer, as set forth in Section 6; (9) in response to request under applicable law (e.g., an order issued by a court of competent jurisdiction, or by a law enforcement agency); (10) when investigating and correcting technical problems and malfunctions in the Website or the computer systems that support the Website; or (11) it is necessary to investigate, prevent or take action with regard to a violation of the Website or Terms, or to enforce compliance with the policies governing the Website (including this Privacy Policy).

Personal information may be available to third parties as noted in the preceding paragraphs. CarePartners makes no representations or warranties about the acts or omissions of such third parties, including whether such parties will keep such information confidential. When you contact CarePartners and provide information to CarePartners, you do so at your own risk, and CarePartners shall not be liable for any misuse of such information by a third party.

Other than for CarePartners’ marketing purposes, CarePartners does not use your email address or other personal information to send commercial or marketing messages without your consent. CarePartners may use your name, usage history and email address without further consent for non-marketing or administrative purposes (such as notifying you of major updates, customer service needs, or items for which you have requested communication).

Ownership and Storage of Information

CarePartners uses third party vendors and hosting partners to provide the necessary hardware, software, networking, storage, and related technology required to run the Website. CarePartners and its licensors own the code, databases, and all rights to the Website and any feedback you provide, save and except that as between you and CarePartners, subject to the terms of this Privacy Policy, you retain all rights to the personal information you provide to CarePartners through the Website. If you incorporate into feedback any User Content (as defined in the Terms), you hereby grant CarePartners a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicenseable and transferable license to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, and display the User Content when operating the Website and for CarePartners’ internal business purposes. Note that any User Content that you submit to the Website publicly, you acknowledge that such User Content is publicly accessible. CarePartners cannot monitor access to public User Content and therefore cannot ensure the privacy or security of such information. CarePartners is not responsible for the misuse of any public User Content.

CarePartners may also indefinitely store any information that you provide to CarePartners or any of its affiliates through the Website or Services. CarePartners and its affiliates also reserve the right to delete such information for any reason and for no reason. CarePartners has implemented commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration or disclosure. However, CarePartners cannot guarantee that unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat those measures or use your personal information for improper purposes. You acknowledge that you provide your personal information at your own risk.

Transfer of Information

Customer lists and information are properly considered assets of a business. Accordingly, if CarePartners merges with another entity or if CarePartners sells its assets to another entity (collectively referred to as a “Transfer”), CarePartners’ contact lists and information, which may include personal information you have provided CarePartners, would be included among the assets that would be transferred and CarePartners would request that the entity treat your information in accordance with the Terms (including this Privacy Policy). CarePartners makes no guarantees as to whether such entity will treat your information in accordance with the Terms (including the Privacy Policy) and disclaims any liability arising out of such entity’s failure to do so. This same provision is applicable for each affiliate of CarePartners.

Protection of Information

Although CarePartners takes reasonable measures to ensure the security of the data you may choose to provide CarePartners from loss or misuse, unfortunately the transmission of data through the Internet cannot be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Neither CarePartners, nor its affiliates, nor any of their respective employees, officers or agents or the provider of the internet services on behalf of CarePartners (nor any other person involving the management or establishment of the Website or Services) can give any representation or warranty as to the absolute security of the data transmitted using the Website or Services and cannot give any guarantee that such data will not be compromised by bad actors. If you choose to provide data to or allow collection of data by CarePartners or any of its affiliates or any of their respective officers, directors, employees, or agents, then you do so understanding the aforementioned risk.

Third-party Websites

This Website and the Services may contain links to other websites that are not maintained or controlled by CarePartners. CarePartners is not responsible for the privacy practices (if any) of such other websites, and you are encouraged to review their privacy policies (if any). The fact that a link to a third-party website exists on the Website or Services does not mean that the third-party site operates under the same or similar privacy practices as set forth in the CarePartners Privacy Policy. The policies and procedures CarePartners describes here do not apply to third-party websites. If you access a third party website using a link, then you do so at your own risk. You acknowledge that your access of any links to social media features on the Website (e.g., links to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.) is governed by the terms of use and privacy policies of the companies providing such social media features.

Notification of Changes

CarePartners reserves the right to revise this Privacy Policy at any time. If we make substantial changes to this Privacy Policy, we will endeavor to notify you of such changes (e.g., by an alert on the Website for a period of time). However, regularly reviewing this page is the best method to ensure you are always aware of the information CarePartners collects, how it is used and under what circumstances.
