Kids' Pals Care Team®

The KIDS' PALS CARE TEAM® project provides families with chronically ill and severely impaired children in-home respite which Interfaith CarePartners® pioneered for frail adults and their caregivers.

Kids' Pals volunteers are recruited from partner congregations and Interfaith CarePartners® coordinates team members' orientation, training, and continuing education. Among families receiving in-home support are those caring for children with cerebral palsy, autism, and other childhood diseases. Interfaith CarePartners® staff receives referrals from pediatric practices and social service agencies that provide health and other services to families and their children with special needs. Care Team® members sit with ill and impaired children to enable parents/caregivers to attend worship, shop, keep medical appointments, dine out, and engage in other activities. Team members do not provide medical or nursing.
